After working for other providers for over seven years, Paul Rice felt that wheelchair users deserved better service. With the goal to do it better, The Wheelchair Shop, Inc. was founded on January 2, 1992. The company offers custom fitted power and manual wheelchairs and seating systems designed to meet the specific needs of the individual client. In addition to offering the sale and service of custom seating and mobility products, we now offer scooters, standers, gait trainers, orthopedic sitters, specialty strollers, bath equipment, recreational equipment, specialty beds and other items as might be requested to meet the needs of our clients. We consider everything we sell to be custom because it is carefully fitted to the client's functional and postural needs and is ordered to their specifications.

The Wheelchair Shop, Inc. continues to be dedicated to providing service after the sell. We understand that mobility equipment is vital to our clients' ability to function ~ and is not a convenience item. Therefore we try to complete each repair as efficiently as possible. Most repairs can be made while the client waits. It's our goal to keep our clients rolling.

The Wheelchair Shop, Inc. adopted the service mark "We're the wheelchair specialists," in 1993, when the company made the decision not to diversify into other areas of medical supply. This commitment allows the company to remain focused on the specialized field of rehab equipment designed to meet the unique needs of each individual client. The company continues to support this commitment by funding ongoing training for our people, to advance their knowledge and skills and keep them on the leading edge of new technology as is develops.
